DURHAM, N.C. -
Some people in the Durham community are upset over NCCU's plans to tear down a 96-year-old house on Fayetteville Street to make room for a campus expansion.
Earlier this year the state deemed the Rivera House on Fayetteville Street to have statewide significance.
Rivera was a central employee who worked as a journalist.
Today, NCCU is taking its case before the Durham Historic Preservation Commission.
