Dr. Bernard Bennett, founder and medical director for Independence Health, said, "This time of year is especially important for seniors who may be dealing with feelings of isolation and loneliness. Independence Health is more than just a physical therapy and wellness facility; we want to be a resource in the community where seniors feel welcome and look forward to socializing with friends and learning new skills or hobbies." Independence Health's mission is to enable people to live at home and enjoy a healthy, balanced and independent lifestyle. The facility's wellness program includes: fun activities, daily lunch, chaplain services and social events.
Featured guests for the December 12th holiday social include Ms. Esther Jones, the 67-year-old competitive ballroom dancing sensation of Fred Astaire Studios in Durham; and M-Pact jazz band.
