Triangle Laptops LLC recently earned the distinction of being a CarbonFree Partner of Carbonfund.org. The online reseller of new and used laptop computer parts offsets 100 percent of the carbon emissions produced through its daily activities including office energy consumption, employee commuting and business travel, and the delivery of its products to its customers. Triangle Laptops LLC, a Durham, N.C. based company founded in 2001, joined the likes of Dell, Discovery, Virgin Airlines and Staples, among 2000 other businesses across the U.S. that have been declared “carbon free” through their work with carbonfund.org.
“We feel that waiting for the U.S. government to enact a solution is ineffective and know that we must take action ourselves,” said Triangle Laptops owner and President Daryn O’Shea. “Since we cannot economically implement an alternative energy source by ourselves or plant enough trees to offset our carbon use, selecting a service such as Carbonfund.org permits our company to support a group that can put funding toward alternative energy and that does have the resources to rebuild forests and tropical rainforests.”
The employees at Triangle Laptops understand that it is important to support alternative energy and to minimize the impact on the planet from the use of conventional energy production such as coal burning power plants. Employees go so far as working without overhead lights when enough natural light is available and dishwashing the same plastic eating utensils they have used to eat lunches with for years. Because of their dedication to this cause, Triangle Laptops LLC was designated by Carbonfund.org as being “100 Percent Carbon Free.”
