DURHAM, N.C. -
One group in Durham got a surprise with breakfast Saturday morning.
The storm caused a tree to fall at the Love and Respect Recovery House on Angier Avenue and Young Street in Durham. No one was hurt and no property damaged, but tenants like Denise Harper said they were startled by the incident.
"We saw light flashing and sound then another light flashed. At first we thought we were being electrocuted but then we heard the tree fall. We went to the front of the house and saw the tree on the ground," Harper said.
Those in the house said the tree fell after the worst part of the story was over. The group is asking anyone who can help with clean up of the tree to call 672-0934.
